Quick Doughnuts
Quick Doughnuts is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 eggs, 1 c. sugar, 1 tsp. nutmeg, 3 tbsp. shortening or oil and 6 1/2 c. self-rising flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

Blend eggs until thick and lemon color.
Gradually beat in sugar and nutmeg.
Blend in shortening and flour, mixing in with milk.
Use enough flour to make a soft dough.
Turn out on lightly floured board; mix gently for 30 seconds, until 1/2-inch thick. Cut with floured doughnut cutter.
Fry in deep fat at 400Β° for 1 1/2 minutes, or until brown on each side.
Drain well.
While warm, sprinkle with confectioners sugar.
Makes 3 dozen.
