Put kumquats in a heavy pan with the sugar.
Stir until sugar is dissolved and boil 3 minutes.
Add beaten eggs and oil. Sift together the flour, salt, baking powder, soda and spices. Stir in nuts.
Stir gently into kumquat mixture.
Cut a piece of wax paper to bottom of each of 2 loaf pans.
Grease and add batter.
Bake in a 350Β° oven until done, about 45 minutes.
