Cream sugar and butter well.
Add eggs one at a time beating well after each.
Add cake flour one cup at at time.
Mix well. Add flavoring.
Bake in a 10 inch tube pan, greased and floured. Start in a cold oven at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 25 minutes.
