Cream sugar, shortening and margarine.
Add eggs and mix well. Add 3 cups of flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg (if desired) alternately with milk.
Add enough flour until stiff enough to roll dough.
Roll on floured board, cut out and place on greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 350Β° about 15 minutes or until brown.
