Preheat oven to 375Β°.
In a small bowl combine flour, soda and salt.
Set aside. In a large bowl combine shortening, sugar and vanilla.
Beat until creamy.
Beat in eggs.
Gradually add flour mixture and mix well.
Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.
Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls on ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes.
