Mock Apple Dumplings
Mock Apple Dumplings is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 1/2 c. peeled, cored and diced apples, 2 c. flour, 1 tbsp. baking powder, 1/2 tsp. salt and 1/4 c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

Blend flour, baking powder, salt, sugar and shortening like pie crust.
Add milk and mix thoroughly until forms a soft dough. On a floured surface, pat dough, then roll out to a rectangular shape with 1/4-inch to 1/2-inch thickness.
Spread softened margarine over the dough.
Sprinkle cinnamon, sugar, apples, and more cinnamon and sugar.
Roll up like a jelly roll.
Cut in 2-inch slices and place in 9 x 13-inch pan (sprayed).
Pour Syrup (recipe follows) over slices.
Bake at 425Β° for 30 minutes or tops are golden brown and center is firm.
Serve warm or cold.
