Merk's Coffee Cake
Merk'S Coffee Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. shortening, 3/4 c. sugar, 1 tsp. vanilla, 3 eggs and 2 c. sifted flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Packed with nutrients and delicious flavors.

Cream shortening, sugar and vanilla thoroughly.
Add eggs, singly, beating well after each addition.
Sift flour, baking powder and soda together.
Add to creamed mixture alternately with sour cream, blending well after each addition.
Spread half of batter into tube pan, greased and floured.
Cream brown sugar, the margarine and cinnamon together; add nuts and mix well.
Dot batter with 1/2 of this mixture.
Put rest of batter on top and sprinkle balance of mixture on top.
Bake at 350Β° for 50 minutes.
