Stir flour, salt, baking powder and spices together.
Cream sugar, margarine and egg until light.
Add prunes, buttermilk, molasses and vinegar and beat to combine.
Dissolve soda in boiling water.
Stir in flour mixture and soda water.
Drop onto greased baking sheet and bake for 15 to 17 minutes at 350Β°.
Makes 6 dozen.
