Lipton Pepper Steak
Lipton Pepper Steak is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 tbsp. shortening or oil, 1 1/2 envelopes onion soup mix, 1 1/2 lb. boneless chuck or round steak, 2 medium green peppers, cut in thin strips and 1 1/2 tbsp. cornstarch, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.
Cut meat into thin strips, 2 inches long.
In large skillet, brown meat in oil; turn frequently.
Stir in soup mix and 2 cups water.
Cover and simmer 30 minutes.
Stir in peppers.
Cover and simmer 10 minutes, or until tender.
Blend cornstarch with 1/2 cup water and stir into skillet.
Cook while stirring until thickened. Add a bit of soy sauce when browning meat.
Serves 4 to 6.
