Layered Mixed Vegetable Salad
Layered Mixed Vegetable Salad is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 head lettuce, torn in bite size pieces, 1/2 c. chopped onion (any kind), 1/2 c. chopped celery, 1/2 c. chopped green pepper and 10 oz. pkg. frozen peas, thawed and drained, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. In a large bowl or 13 x 9-inch pan, layer lettuce and onion. Spoon 1/2 cup mayo evenly over top.
Layer celery, green pepper and peas.
Spread remaining mayo over top.
Sprinkle sugar, cheese and bacon over top.
Cover and refrigerate at least 8 hours.
Add water chestnuts.
Toss before serving.
