Hot Salsa
Hot Salsa is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 peck small tomatoes, 3/4 c. sugar, 2 tbsp. salt, 2 c. vinegar and 1/2 c. lemon juice, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Peel and quarter a peck of small tomatoes, add sugar, salt, vinegar, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, dry mustard, garlic and basil leaves.
Simmer on stove 45 minutes.
Dice onions, sweet peppers and 8 to 10 hot red peppers.
Add to mixture and return to boil.
Pour into hot jars and seal.
Makes about 10 pints.
More hot peppers may be used if a hotter salsa is desired.
