Combine first three ingredients in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil.
Combine buttermilk and soda, stirring until soda dissolves.
Combine flour, sugar and cocoa in a large bowl.
Add hot mixture and stir well.
Add buttermilk mixture and eggs.
Mix well.
Spoon into a greased jelly roll pan (15 x 10 x 1-inch). Bake at 400Β° for 15 minutes.
Frost with Buttermilk Frosting while still warm.
