Grandma's Chicken Soup
Grandma'S Chicken Soup is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 15 c. water, 4 chicken breasts with bones (fat removed), cut in smaller pieces, 2 large carrots, 1 potato and 2 onions, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
In a large pot, bring water to a boil.
Add chicken, onions, green pepper, salt, thyme and bay leaf.
Lower temperature slightly if boiling too rapidly.
After 20 minutes, add potato, carrots and celery.
Cook, partly covered, until chicken and vegetables are cooked.
Strain the broth.
In the broth, cook pasta.
Cut up vegetables and chicken, if desired, and add to pasta and broth.
