Grandma Gerry's Apple Dumplings

Mix first 2 ingredients.
Put on floured surface and flatten with hands into a rectangle.
Peel and cut apples as you would for pie.
Place on dough and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
Roll like a jelly roll.
Place the water and 1/2 cup sugar on the stove in an 8-inch square pan.
Heat until sugar is dissolved and it comes to a boil.
Cut the dumplings to desired shape and put in pan with water.
