Brown flour in cooking oil until rich brown, then add chopped onion and cook slowly until golden.

Add water, salt, pepper and green onions.

Bring to a boil.

When mixture boils, add shrimp and crab (if frozen or fresh).

Cook until shrimp are done.

At this point the mixture can be frozen, if desired.

When ready to serve, reheat to a boil and add oysters.

Cook 1 minute at a boil, or more if preferred.

Remove from heat and add file to taste (usually about 2 tablespoons).

Add parsley to garnish at this time.

Also liquid crab boil (1 drop or two) to give rich seafood flavor.
