German Scones
German Scones is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 pkg. yeast, 1/2 c. warm water, 1 tbsp. sugar, 1 c. boiling water and 1/2 c. butter flavor crisco, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

Dissolve yeast in warm water.
Add 1 tablespoon of sugar.
In a large mixing bowl, pour boiling water over Crisco, remaining sugar and salt.
Stir to melt Crisco.
Add eggs, yeast mixture and 2 cups of the flour.
Beat until smooth.
Stir in remaining flour.
Let rise 1 hour at room temperature; stir down.
Refrigerate 1 hour. Roll out 1/4 of the dough into an 8 x 12-inch rectangle.
Cut in 2-inch squares.
Fry a few at a time in hot, deep Crisco at 350Β° for 1 minute on each side.
Drain.
Serve warm with jam.
Repeat with remaining dough.
Unused dough may be stored in the refrigerator.
Yields 8 dozen.
