German Fruit Cake
German Fruit Cake is a spiced buttermilk cake with cherry, apricot, and pineapple preserves folded into the batter, plus optional pecans. It bakes in an angel food pan into a moist fruit-studded cake for slicing.
π¨βπ³ Instructions
Cream together butter, sugar and eggs.
Sift together flour and spices.
Add flour mixture alternately with buttermilk to which the soda has been added.
Fold in gently the preserves, vanilla and nuts.
Pour into a greased and floured angel food cake pan.
Bake for 1 1/2 hours or until done at 325Β°.
Cool for 15 minutes after it is removed from oven.
