Early American Coffee Cake
Early American Coffee Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 c. flour, 1 c. brown sugar, packed, 1 c. sugar, 1 1/4 tbsp. cinnamon and 1 c. blue bonnet oleo, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
Mix first 5 ingredients.
Set aside 3/4 cup of this mixture for topping.
To rest, add salt, soda and eggs.
Beat well by hand and add buttermilk.
Mix until smooth.
Pour into greased and floured angel food pan.
Sprinkle with 3/4 cup reserved crumbs. Bake at 350Β° for 45 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Cool 15 minutes in pan on wire rack.
Using sharp knife, loosen sides from pan.
Invert onto plate and invert again to get right side up.
