Doughnut Muffins
Doughnut Muffins is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/3 c. soft shortening, 1 1/2 c. sugar, divided, 1 egg, 1 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour and 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.

Cream shortening and 1 cup sugar.
Add egg; beat well.
Mix and sift flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg.
Add alternately with milk to egg mixture.
Fill greased muffin pans 2/3 full. Bake in moderate oven (350Β°) for 20 to 30 minutes or until golden brown.
Remove from pans at once and roll in melted butter, then in mixture of remaining 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon.
Makes 12 medium or 18 small muffins.
