Cream of Vegetable Soup
Cream Of Vegetable Soup is an impressive soup you can prepare in about 1 hour 2 minutes. Made with medium onion, chopped, c. butter or margarine, c. flour, (10 1/2 oz. each) cans condensed chicken broth or 4 c. chicken broth and c. milk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
In a large kettle or Dutch oven, saute the onion in butter until tender. Add flour. Cook and stir until bubbly.
Gradually add chicken broth and cook and stir until thickened, about 5 minutes.
Stir in milk, cream, basil, salt, pepper and garlic powder.
Add the vegetables and cook gently until heated thoroughly.
Makes 8 to 10 servings. Excellent.
