Chili
Chili is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 tbsp. butter or margarine, 1 1/2 lb. ground round or lean ground beef, 1 medium onion, chopped, 1 can red kidney beans and 1 can tomatoes plus 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

Brown onion slightly in butter; add ground meat.
Cover, but stir occasionally until meat is nicely browned.
Add beans, rinsed of their liquid and tomatoes.
Season with salt, pepper, sugar and chili powder to suit taste.
Cook mixture slowly for 1 hour, tightly covered.
Water may be added if too thick.
This is good cooked in a crock-pot also.
