British Tea Cookies
British Tea Cookies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 c. sugar, 2 sticks margarine, softened, 1 egg, well beaten, 1 1/2 c. flour and 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Cream sugar and oleo.
Add egg and vanilla and mix well.
Sift flour and baking powder together; add to sugar mixture.
Using 2 teaspoons, make cookie into nut size balls.
Roll each in a dish of oatmeal so it can be handled.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten with glass dipped in oatmeal.
Replenish oatmeal as needed.
Bake at 325Β° for 15 minutes.
