Braised Lamb Shanks
Braised Lamb Shanks is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 4 lamb shanks, 4 cloves garlic, 1/4 c. fat, 1/4 c. flour and 2 c. water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
Cut a vertical slit 1 1/2 inches deep in each shank; insert a clove of garlic.
Roll shank in mixture of 2 tablespoons flour, 1 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper.
Brown in fat; remove shanks.
Add 1/4 cup flour to fat and blend.
Stir in butter. Cook until thick, stirring.
Season with salt, pepper and Kitchen Bouquet.
Add shanks to gravy.
Cover; bake in moderate oven at 350Β° for about 1 1/2 hours.
Serve with Raisin Rice.
