Bert's Favorite Pepper Steak
Bert'S Favorite Pepper Steak is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 large sirloin steak, 1/4 c. oil, 1 c. water, 1 medium onion and 1/4 tsp. garlic salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Slice steak into thin strips, place in large skillet with the heated oil and cook on high about 5 minutes or until done.
Add water, onions (sliced in rings) and garlic salt.
Bring to a boil and then reduce heat and simmer for about 5 minutes.
Cut bell pepper in large pieces.
Add to skillet and simmer 5 more minutes. Mix cornstarch, sugar and soy sauce; stir into meat mixture. Stir until thick, about 2 minutes.
Cut tomatoes into wedges; place on top, cover and heat for 3 minutes.
Turn off; serve over rice.
Makes 4 to 5 servings.
