Barbecued Lima Beans
Barbecued Lima Beans is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 cups dried lima beans, 1/4 lb. bacon, 1 small onion, 1 clove of garlic (chopped) and 1 1/2 tsp. mustard, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Soak beans overnight.
Next day, drain and add water and bacon. Cook slowly until tender.
Drain reserving 1 1/2 c. liquid.
Brown onion and garlic in fat.
Add mustard, worcestershire sauce, chili powder and salt.
Cook 5 minutes.
Alternate lima beans and sauce in greased casserole.
Bake 30 minutes at 400 degrees.
