Made with 3 1/2 to 4 c. prepared roast, cut into 1-inch thinly and diagonally sliced strips, 1 c. onion, chopped, 2 tbsp. butter or margarine, 1 1/2 c. catsup and 1/3 c. brown sugar, firmly packed, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Slice roast and set aside.
In a large skillet or saucepan, saute onion in butter until tender.
Stir in remaining ingredients in order as given.
Heat to boiling, then reduce heat.
Simmer, covered, for about 30 to 45 minutes.
Add beef and simmer an additional 15 minutes.
Serve on warm hamburger buns.
