Heat oven to 350Β°.
Grease 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
Mix oleo, sugar and vanilla with fork.
Add eggs; stir until well blended. Stir in flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt.
Save 2 cups of batter.
Spread remaining batter in pan.
Arrange patties in single layer over batter.
Add remaining 2 cups of batter over patties.
Bake for 50 to 55 minutes.
Cool completely and cut into squares.
