Stewed Crackers
Stewed Crackers is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 pkg. saltine crackers (original premium are best), 1 c. water, 1 c. rich milk (half and half), 1 tbsp. margarine and salt and pepper, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.

Heat the water to boiling.
Place crackers in a bowl with a tight-fitting lid.
Add salt and pepper.
Pour boiling water over the crackers and put on lid.
Let steam a few minutes.
Heat the milk and margarine to boiling and also pour this over the crackers.
Stir and serve in soup bowls.
Pour tomato juice over the crackers and serve.
