Sausage Cheese Grits Casserole is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 4 c. water, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1 c. quick grits, 1 1/2 c. grated sharp cheddar cheese and 1/2 stick margarine, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
Preheat oven to 350Β°.
Grease 3-quart baking dish.
Bring water and salt to boil.
Slowly stir in grits, cover and reduce heat; cook 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Remove from heat.
Stir in 1 cup cheese until melted; add egg, milk and sausage; blend well. Pour mixture in prepared dish.
Sprinkle with remaining 1/2 cup cheese.
Bake 1 hour or until cheese is browned.
Chill 10 minutes.
