Shortening and sugar.

Place on stove.

Let it get warm enough to melt shortening, but do not boil.

Set aside to cool to lukewarm.

Dissolve yeast in small amount of mixture. Pour back into mixture.

Add enough flour to make a thick paste. Cover to rise about double in size.

Mix salt, baking powder with a small amount of remaining flour.

Add to dough.

Finish adding flour to make a stiff dough (like biscuit dough).

Cover and put in refrigerator ready to on floured board. Cut with biscuit cutter and fold.

Place melted butter in fold.

Bake at 400Β° until light brown, about 15 minutes.
