Orange Sangria
Orange Sangria is an easy dinner. Made with 1 medium orange (or lemon or lime), 1/4 c. sugar, 2 c. orange juice, 1 (4/5 qt.) bottle dry red wine and 1/2 c. cointreau or triple sec, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
Cut orange in half.
Slice one half.
With a vegetable peeler, cut off the thin outer peel of the other half of the orange.
In a bowl, using a wooden spoon, mash peel into the sugar so sugar absorbs the oils; then add remaining ingredients.
Cover and chill.
Remove peels after 15 minutes.
Serve over ice.
Makes 1 1/2 quarts.
