Old Fashioned Tea Cakes
Old Fashioned Tea Cakes is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. sugar, 2 eggs, 1 c. shortening (half butter and half crisco), 1/2 c. milk and pinch of salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

Cream sugar and shortening.
Add eggs; mix well.
Add 3 cups flour (mixed with baking powder, salt and nutmeg) alternately with milk.
Add enough flour until stiff enough to roll dough.
Roll on floured board; cut out and place on greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375Β° for approximately 15 minutes, until brown.
