Old-Fashioned Gumbo is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 large, meaty soup bone or 2 to 3 round bottoms (try to get the latter with the bone and marrow still in), 1 lb. chicken parts (backs and wings can be utilized), 1 lb. okra, stemmed (preferably fresh; frozen a second choice), 6 ears fresh yellow corn (kernels from) or 12 to 16 oz. can frozen corn (please, no canned corn) and 1 to 1 1/2 lb. fresh tomatoes, peeled, stemmed and cut in pieces (ohio beefsteaks are good, canned whole tomatoes a so-so second choice), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.

Mix together and store in refrigerator.

Take 1/2 pint jar and put some in it, leave out of refrigerator so you will have some ready to use.
