Cream butter.
Add 4x sugar.
Blend in egg, vanilla and flour. Stir in pecans and cherries.
Refrigerate 3 to 4 hours in bowl. Divide into four, log-shaped pieces.
Roll in wax paper. Refrigerate overnight.
Slice.
Bake at 350Β° for 12 minutes. Makes 5 dozen.
