Jambalaya
Jambalaya is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 cloves garlic, chopped, 1 medium onion, chopped, 1 small bell pepper, chopped, 1 tbsp. worcestershire sauce and 1/4 tsp. thyme, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
Saute onion, bell pepper and garlic over medium heat until tender.
Add Worcestershire sauce, thyme, parsley, hot sauce, salt and bay leaves.
Saute for 5 minutes.
Add just enough broth to keep mixture from burning and slightly moist.
If using smoked sausage or shrimp, add now.
Cover; cook until done.
If using cooked meat, add now.
Stir often.
Cook another 15 minutes, uncovered.
Add rice.
Turn heat to low.
Simmer until excess moisture is absorbed.
Do not overcook.
Serves 4 to 6.
