Italian Slaw
Italian Slaw is an moderately easy Italian salad you can prepare in just 48 minutes. Made with medium-size head cabbage, medium-size onion, c. sugar, divided, c. vinegar and c. oil, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
Shred cabbage, place in a large bowl, in alternate layers of cabbage and thinly sliced onion rings.
Top with 3/4 cup sugar. Bring to boil 1 cup sugar, vinegar, oil, salt, dry mustard and celery seed.
When mixture boils, pour over cabbage.
Do not stir. Cover; let stand overnight or at least 6 to 8 hours.
