Holiday Double Onion Stuffing
Holiday Double Onion Stuffing is an moderately easy seasonal dish you can prepare in about 1 hour 32 minutes. Made with . bacon, chopped, apple, coarsely chopped, c. celery, minced, (8 oz.) pkg. cornbread stuffing and durkee onions (2.8 oz.), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. In large skillet, brown bacon lightly.
Drain off all but 2 tablespoons drippings.
Add apples and celery; cook until tender. Remove from heat.
Add onions, stuffing and almonds and mix well. Mix eggs, water, thyme and broth.
Pour over stuffing and mix well.
Spoon into 8 x 12-inch greased pan or baking dish.
Cover and bake at 350Β° for 45 minutes, then add Durkee onions to top of stuffing.
Bake 5 minutes and serve.
Makes 8 to 10 servings.
