Grandma's Christmas Cookies
Grandma'S Christmas Cookies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 lb. margarine, 2/3 c. white sugar, 1 lb. brown sugar, 2 tsp. vanilla and 4 c. flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
Cream together the margarine, sugars and vanilla.
Sift together the flour, spice and soda.
Measure and set out the oats, eggs, nuts, raisins and candied fruit or chocolate chips.
In a large mixing bowl with creamed mixture, add 2 cups of flour mixture, mixing well.
Add an egg, then the remaining flour mixture; mix well.
Add an egg, then remaining oats.
Work in last egg with the nuts, raisins and candied fruit or chocolate chips. (Note:
If using candied fruit, take some of the flour and mix with the fruit to keep fruit from sticking together.)
Dough should be stiff, but moist.
Bake at 350Β° for 8 to 12 minutes, depending on size of cookie.
Yields 8 dozen large to 16 dozen medium cookies.
