Farmer's Cheap Fruit Cake
Farmer'S Cheap Fruit Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. chopped apples (or 1 c. applesauce), 1 c. molasses (not the store kind), 1 c. oleo, 1 c. milk and 1 c. raisins, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.

Simmer apples and molasses 2 hours. (Much less if applesauce is used.) Let cool.
Add spices and soda to flour.
Sift 3 times and beat.
Add milk and watch for the amount you use--depends on the apple mixture.
Lastly, add raisins and beat.
Bake at 350Β°F. in loaf pan or tube pan.
It's done when tested with toothpick.
