Coffee Cake
Coffee Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/4 c. vegetable shortening, 1/2 c. sugar, 1 egg, beaten, 1/2 c. skim milk and 1 1/2 c. flour, sifted, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.
Cream shortening and sugar.
Blend in egg; add milk.
Sift dry ingredients together and blend into first ingredients.
Spread batter in greased 9-inch pan.
Arrange apple slices on top of batter, pressing them slightly into the batter.
Combine sugar substitute and cinnamon and sprinkle on top.
Bake at 375Β° for 25 to 35 minutes.
Yield: 16 (2 inch) squares.
