Cream shortening, sugars, eggs and vanilla.
Sift together flour, soda and salt.
Add to creamed mixture.
Stir in oatmeal. Mix fruit and nuts with 2 tablespoons of flour and stir into mixture.
Drop by rounded teaspoons onto cookie sheet; flatten some and shape.
Bake at 350Β° for about 10 minutes.
