Homemade Bread
Homemade Bread is an moderately easy baked good you can prepare in about 1 hour 50 minutes. Made with qt. milk, c. sugar, mounded tbsp. crisco, . salt and eggs, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
Scald milk and pour over sugar, Crisco and salt.
Beat eggs and add to mixture.
Measure 2 1/2 cups of flour into another bowl (gallon crock) and add yeast.
Pour lukewarm mixture and mix.
Add rest of flour gradually.
Takes about 4 pounds.
Knead about 10 minutes.
Grease bowl.
Cover and let rise.
Punch down and let rise again.
Punch down and shape into loaves, rolls or cinnamon rolls.
Bake at 325Β° until lightly browned.
