Sangria
Sangria is an moderately easy drink you can prepare in about 1 hour 10 minutes. Made with c. superfine sugar, c. cold water, lime, thinly sliced, orange, thinly sliced and about 12 ice cubes, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Combine sugar and water in small pan over moderate heat.
Stir constantly until sugar melts (syrup).
Before it boils, remove from heat.
Add lime and orange when cool (at this time, when cool, you may add small seedless grapes, first washed).
Put ice cubes in pitcher, add fruit and 1/2 cup of the syrup.
Fill pitcher with wine.
Let it set, in refrigerator about 20 minutes, add soda water, swizzle and serve.
