Punch Bowl Cake
Punch Bowl Cake is an moderately easy drink you can prepare in about 1 hour 22 minutes. Made with box yellow cake mix or a frozen 2 lb. pound cake, large box instant lemon pudding mix, large container frozen whipped topping, blueberry pie filling and crushed pineapple, drained, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
If using cake mix, prepare as directed on box.
Dice cake in 1/2-inch cubes.
Put into a small punch, trifle or just a clear bowl.
Layer pineapple over cake.
Mix pudding and pour over pineapple before it sets.
Layer the pie filling over the pudding and top with the whipped topping.
Garnish with cherries and pecans.
This is also good with cherry pie filling and chocolate or vanilla pudding.
Leave out the pineapple, though.
