Ice Cream
Ice Cream is an moderately easy dessert you can prepare in about 1 hour 54 minutes. Made with qt. milk, large cans pet milk, condensed milk, whole eggs and c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Place all milk in a heavy pan on the fire.
When milk is warm, add eggs and sugar.
After they have been beaten really good, dissolve cornstarch in a bowl with some of the cold milk mixture. Then add this to milk and egg mixture.
Stirring all the time, add salt and butter.
Cook until near boiling.
Stir continually.
Add vanilla extract.
Fruits may be added.
Place in icebox the night before.
Use a hand freezer.
Add fruits the next day.
Makes a big gallon.
