Dottie's Orange Cake
Dottie'S Orange Cake is an impressive dessert you can prepare in about 1 hour 36 minutes. Made with juice of 1 orange, c. brown sugar, orange rind, c. raisins and c. nut meats, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Mix together brown sugar and orange juice, set aside.
Chop orange rind, raisins and nuts in chopper or processor.
Set aside.
Cream together sugar, baking soda and shortening.
Add eggs to creamed mixture, one at a time; mix well.
Sift flour and baking powder; add alternately to creamed mixture with 1 cup milk. Add raisin-nut mixture.
Bake at 350Β° for 40 minutes.
Remove from pan immediately and pour juice/brown sugar mix slowly over top.
Cool before serving.
