Cabin Stew
Cabin Stew is an impressive soup you can prepare in about 1 hour 2 minutes. Made with c. chopped onion, c. coarsely-chopped, cooked ham, (14 1/2 oz. each) chicken broth, c. water and . smoked sausage, cut in 1/4 inch thick slices, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Combine onion, ham, broth, water, sausage and potatoes.
Cook until potatoes are fork tender but not mushy.
Add bacon, garbanzo beans, black pepper, salt, and garlic butter.
Simmer for 30 to 35 minutes or until garbanzo beans are tender.
Stir occasionally. Makes 6 servings.
